Portuguese version of EAMB website launched!

To celebrate the Brazilian launch of “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara”, I’ve created a portuguese version of the EAMB website!  You can access it by clicking on the Brazilian flag near the top of the page.

This new site won’t be just a translation of the texts here, but rather specific content for the Brazilian reader, who already knows a lot about the history and folklore behind the stories.

Many thanks to Jeremy Tolbert of Clockpunk Studios for performing the website conversion in record time!

Devir to publish “Fortuitous Meeting” in Brazil

I’m pleased to announce The Elephant and Macaw Banner’s latest partnership.  Devir has agreed to publish “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara” in Portuguese for the Brazilian market!

The novelette will appear in the pocket book Duplo Fantasia Heroica (Heroic Fantasy Duo), along with a novelette by well-known Brazilian author and editor Roberto de Sousa Causo. Here’s a sneak peak at the cover:

The pocket book is one of the first in a new collection being launched by the editor, along with Duplo Cyberpunk (Cyberpunk Duo), which contains a story by Bruce Sterling.

Devir is a publisher of RPGs, Books, Comics, Board Games and Miniatures in Portuguese and Spanish markets around the world.  They are official distributors of Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, among other products.  They have offices in Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Spain, and the U.S.

I’m extremely honored to be working with them on this project.

Video of WFC reading

The amazing Al Bogdan taped my reading of “The Forituitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara” at the World Fantasy Convention last week.  It was my first-ever reading, and in my allotted thirty minutes I made it through half the story.

For size reasons, the video is split into three parts (at the scene breaks).  You can see part one here:

Or watch all three parts at The Elephant and Macaw Banner YouTube channel.

Hope you enjoy!

Gerard Painting

Carol’s second foray into the Elephant and Macaw Banner universe is this fine painting of Gerard van Oost.

My female friends in particular seem to really enjoy Carol’s artwork. After seeing this image and her Oludara Painting (and wiping away a bit of drool), they tell me I should let Carol do *all* my artwork from now own. 🙂

Well, I still plan on seeing many other artists’ concepts of the Elephant and Macaw Banner in the future, but Carol will certainly be back!

As always, more of Carol’s work can be found here.
