Today the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America announced that “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara” is a Nebula Award finalist in the category of Best Novelette.

This is the greatest honor I’ve received as a writer and a huge day for The Elephant and Macaw Banner. It’s a humbling experience, and I deeply thank all the professionals who saw fit to nominate me for this award.

The ceremony will be held in Washington D.C. on the 21st of May, and I plan to attend.  The full press release can be found here.

I’m happy to announce that “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara” appears on Rachel Swirsky’s 2011 Novelette Recommendations.

Once again, many thanks to Rachel.  It’s quite an honor to have my work recognized by such a talented writer and editor, and an honor to have it listed among that amazing group of stories.
