Locus Online reviews “Fortuitous Meeting”

In her review, Lois Tilton of Locus Online gives a “Recommended” rating to the novelette “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara”.

Lois writes: “An entertaining mix of adventure and folklore in a fantastic world where monsters roam the forests of Brazil and Africa. It would seem that the author intends to send these two on a series of continuing adventures.”

Thank you, Lois, I most certainly do!

Catherine Schaff-Stump of Writer Tamago provides the first review ever of “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara”.

Catherine writes: “Kastensmidt skillfully weaves history, fantasy, adventure, and strong characterization into a compelling introduction. Now, I’m ready for the rest of the stories, and I would like to humbly submit to publishers that they give them to me.”

Thanks, Catherine!

EAMB on vacation

It’s Carnaval time here in Brazil and that means EAMB is taking a vacation!  I’ll also be traveling on business for a couple of weeks afterwards.

That means I probably won’t be posting these next three weeks, and comment moderation will be sporadic, so I appreciate your patience.

In the meantime, please check out Jay Beard’s illustration, Oludara & the Dragon B&W, which I posted today.  It’s absolutely gorgeous!

Website Officially Launched!

Today is the official launch of the Elephant and Macaw Banner website!  Many thanks to everyone who has subscribed to the feeds.  I hope to bring you some interesting content to complement the stories.

The goal is posting one item here per week, whether news, media, or a “world” entry which describes in detail some element from the series.  The first new post is coming soon, and I promise it will be “delicious” .

And feel free to add your own contributions in the comments!  I’ll try to clear the posts as quickly as I can.

Thanks again for all your support!
